Aug 2nd to 4th- Aomori festivals (Part 1)
Paiseh paiseh!! I mixed up the dates. This entry should be before the last one. I went to Aomori first, then I went to Furano in Hokk. Tech-idiot me don't know how to change the order of my entries so just too bad!
Ok, my trip to AOMORI PREFECTURE, Hachinohe and Aomori city.
Reason for going there:
-Yen Ling is there
-Free accomodation
-The Nebuta festival in Aomori city is famous
Method:
-Bus to Tomokomai ferry terminal (1.5hrs)
-Ferry to Hachinohe terminal (6hrs)
-Bus to Yen Ling's home (20min)
I had to pass by the cargo area for car and it soooo reminded me of Umizaru 2 (Jp movie) that I had to take a picture. FYI, the movie is about a cruise ship that sunk..

FYI, it's sweltering hot in Aomori! To think that it is just one prefecture down from Hokkaido! Poor Variel had to bear with the heat. Oh, yes! Another prefecture conquered by my precious:
After a short rest in Yen Ling's house, we set of to Hachinohe city centre to check out it's festival. Unfortunately, blur me forgot the name of the fest. So can YL help to provide the info if you happen to drop by?
On our way to the start of the festival procession, there were people already lining up along the street to get the best seat. FYI, kiasuism is universal.
My precious got to watch the festival too!
This Hachinohe fest is really slow and feels really very traditional. Truly different from the younger fest in Sapporo.
Totally unrelated but here's a pic taken from a bakery near YL's place. I really really love that bakery cos there are lots of stuff made from CHEESE!!!
