The Journey of life
In a bid to NOT study, I went to catch up with Miya and Huijun's blog... which made me remember my one year back in Okinawa and all the wonderful friends that I had met. Like Huijun, I find myself changed upon going back to Singapore. So much so that I sometimes find myself on a different wavelength from my friends. However, this change is for the better as it was an enriching experience for me. Perhaps I can say that my hiatus in Okinawa was a trip to find comfort in my own skin. There were happy, angry and sad episodes, good and bad choices made, but it all contributes to who I am today.
Perhaps I will be compelled to reflect on my experiences in Hokkaido 6 months from now and be faced with the question: 'What have you gain here?'
Other than the wonderful friends that I have been blessed with here, other than my darling snowboard... I am afraid to admit that I have not really gained anything intellectually. I guess even after a whole 12 years of neighbourhood schools, at the end of the day, I enjoy a challenging environment. Not to mention the fact that some friends still remain at the 'Hi!!... Bye!!' level, where an invisible barrier remains. Could it be that I am standoffish?
In a nutshell, I felt that their life has started onto another chapter and the turn of their pages had sent off reverberations into my own. I have to seriously consider what I want to do 6 months later...
