Going crazy for all the wrong reasons
I am totally not studying. My thesis is due on 9th Jan and it is still a mess. I have been spending days on my bibliography only. I really cannot concentrate. I am very very impatient and inconsiderate with friends and family. Every little thing pisses me off. I truly hate packaged tours. But I have to be considerate and understand that it is good for people who has never travelled before. I need to be more understanding. Even though it is possible to travel in Japan without knowing Japanese, most people would be afraid of doing so. However, I can't help myself but be a horrid, impatient and inconsiderate person.
I feel like dumping my messy thesis aside and submitting it in all its typo-glory on due date cos, as my supervisor said, nobody will read it anyway.
Worst thing is, even though my friends are really supportive of me, my family (except my mum, but she doesn't even know what I am studying) just thinks that I am a fat, ugly, useless pansy. They either make light of my problems, or say 'You deserve it. Who told u to go to Japan anyway.' Perhaps that is their emotionally constipated way of expressing their love. Even so, I really love my family and really want them to come and visit me here. I want to show them the sights, let them try the delicious food... but like what my bro would say, I am just having a dream of a happy family and it will always remain a dream.
Even so, I just can't bring myself to cancel my long awaited Niseko trip. Yes, i won't be free from 21st to 23rd cos I am a selfish bitch who wants to go Niseko to snowboard. The dates had been fixed and Miya has her flight to Sapporo confirmed. But most importantly, I simply don't want to cancel or change my Niseko date. So I can't go to the airport to pick up my family, bring them to a hotel that I will book for them and bring them around Hokkaido for the first 2 days. I really cannot expect them to occupy themselves for the first two days cos only my aunt can speak English. They really need somebody to take care of them. So, they have to find tour packages that allows them to extend their stay here. I must understand that they are not like me. I can easily do a free and easy or even backpack in Korea, Russia or Egypt and still survive thru the language barrier. But inexperienced travellers cannot do that. I keep trying to drum this fact into my selfish mind.
At the end of the day, I guess I am truly a fat, ugly, useless and selfish bitch.
