The 8th SIN
I did not know that it is a sin to force a pitiful, healthy, physically-able 27 year old male to submit his poor self unto the torture of Singapore public transport from one end of the country (Bedok) to the other end (NTU). Indeed, it is such a cardinal sin that perhaps it will be more fitting to ascribe this unforgivable offense to be the 8th sin. Why, surely all male students of NUS and NTU who live in the east must drive to their campus.
No matter that Singapore is simply one single dot on earth, no matter that there are people in Japan who commute to school and work for more than 3, 4 hours everyday, a great country like Singapore do not subject its male citizens to the agony of the public transport. Or perhaps I may say that a wonderfully maternal country like Singapore do not allow their preciouses to be tortured upon the crowded MRT, to travail up the horrid bus steps and cruelly 'deet' their unsuspecting transit link card onto the evil reader. Yes, we must respect human right and the dignity of the human race.
On a more logical note, isn't it more cost effective to drive to NTU in a 2 litre Toyota Camry than to take the extremely expensive trains and buses. Of course it is, since the petrol is paid by the benevolent credit card kindly provided by the loving matriach.
Having committed a failed attempt of the 8th sin, I shall be subject to the torturous public transport. I will be at the mercy of the MRT, I will have to postrate myself upon the gloating bus. Ahhhh... tohlong!!
