Powder bath for my darling mites
Armed with a wealth of advice from my doggie-loving friends with prior tick-rearing experiences, I purchased a $13++ worth of flea and tick powder last week. A constant point of contention between me and my aunt was over the efficacy of these commercial products. Thus, I decided to conduct a litmus test on my newest purchase.
First, I poured a generous amount of the powder onto a piece of toilet paper. A fortuitous forage in Variel's silky locks unearthed an active medium-sized bugger. It wriggled its many long legs that reminded me of the aliens in CH5's War of the Worlds yesterday. I managed to pluck the mighty mite out of Variel's poor innocent skin and dumped it into the soft powdery bath that awaits. It wriggled vigourously, managing to right itself up. Wriggled somemore and in the process, dusted itself with a fine layer of the powder so very commercially made for its private usage. Paused.... then proceeded to stroll right out of the toilet paper!!!! I thought it might have misunderstood this exercise as an effort to give it a loving powder bath and unceremoniously dumped it right back into the powder. However, it was determined to get on with its life and move on! Unable to give the poor mite a beautiful death with its body intact, I had no choice but to politely cover it with the toilet paper and squash it with the back of Variel's brush.
RIP, little tick. And RIP, my $13++ flea and tick powder.
