A sight for sore eyes
I never profess myself to be a fashion guru. Rather, I came into the beauty fanatics scene rather later, only after I had started working. Even so, living for 2.5 years in Sapporo has given me much insight to the intricacies of fashion. Though Sapporo is definitely no Tokyo, maybe the religious perusal of fashion magazine by girls all over the land of the rising sun has given them a form of fashionable unity. Although you will sometimes spot some crazy outfits, they are usually so outlandish that you have no choice but to admire how they can simply brazen it out.
Imagine my surprise to see that Singapore had been taken over by the fever-of-tights upon my return to my homeland. Women of all ages wearing tights, from little girls to aunties on the streets. Unfortunately, most of them do not have access to the all-important fashion magazine. As inept as I am with regards to clothes, pairing large, loose Tshirts with tights reminds me of those aunties in the wet market during my childhood years. It was quite popular back then. Perhaps this is what it means when they say, the 80s (auntie) fashion is back in style today.
