Feeling young @ Mac
I am currently sitting at Bt Panjang Plaza's Mac, studying my GRE and my basic Korean while being surrounded by NUS undergrads and 'A' level kids, wearing minimum make-up, my hair up like an auntie, and in my uni days giordano shorts (the one with detachable cargo pants that Charise so likes). Thanks to miya, I managed to get online. However, I still cannot access my online GRE guide on kaplan... Guess I just have to do it at home.
Currently taking a rest from searching through grad schools to focus on GRE but I have to decide soon. In order to decide, I have to check out grad schools ranking online and from reference books at Borders/ Kino. Also have to consult with the various grad students I got to know in the course of my research on the Ainu people and various lecturers regarding how and what to prepare for grad school application. I don't want to aim too high in my choice of grad schools and end up falling flat on the ground, smashed into smithereens.
Then, I have to prepare a CV to sell me as a product and most probably re-organize my Masters thesis into a 10-12 page essay as a sample research paper. Also need to request for my NUS transcripts. Also need to find 3 nice and wonderful people to write a letter of recommendation for me.
Also have to prepare to burn an abyss in my pocket for all the application expenses, costing about USD70~120 for each school I apply to. Hopefully, I manage to sell myself well enough to get a grant or fellowship of some kind cos my abyss is going to be deep. Very very deep.
