I wonder what's wrong. Chiba sensei was quite curt in her email reply when I tried to contact her one month ago. And I emailed her requesting for a letter of recommendation today but no reply yet. I wonder if I had offended her in some way....
Then, there was the letter of recommendation that I requested from my Hokudai supervisor. That was 4 days ago and no reply yet. What should I do? Email him and tell him that if he is too busy, then nvm, I'll go get from another sensei? My sup is quite unpopular among the graduates in my class but he did seem quite nice to me as compared to this other poor senpai under him. Perhaps I offended him when I left sapporo without telling him? It wasn't deliberate! Somehow, I got so busy trying to settle Variel's flight and meeting up with friends that I forgot to drop him an email. I might be able to get a letter from this other sensei. He's really very nice and all my senpais in Hokudai actually were of the opinion that I should have chosen him as my supervisor.
Another backup that I might find is Ann-elise, a post-grad/ now lecturer who was very involved in the Indigenous Peoples Summit. I worked under her during the summit and we did get to talk to each other in several occasions while working on Ainu related activities. But she just moved back to the States and just got married so she's really busy!
So currently, I have two unconfirmed letters of reference. Vat to do? I need コネ!!
