Indulgent parents
In the extreme moments of my anti-social self, I do tend to have a careless disregard for the comfort of others. Some friends might be witness to my cavalier attitude in many little moments, when I simply heck care about the convenience of others, as long as mine own or my friends were satisfied.
However, I like to think that I am not an overly indulgent parent towards my Variel. Am I overly indulgent?? Parents have an inbuilt ability to be blind to the faults of their kids. It can be a fatal flaw, in the case of penniless old folks who gave all their money to faithless and selfish kids. Or it can be a general inconvenience to others, like a pet owner who is unaware that they are housing a personal noise pollution machine. When it comes to Variel, I do not like to cause others inconvenience. If you remember, I was at wits end when my property agent informed me that Variel was very noisy and it if persists, I will be kicked out of my apartment. While I acknowledge that she can be very bark-y, that only occurs when I am not at home and thus, unable to control her!!!! I do hope that I am not blind to her faults. But I also hope that others understand that it was a situation that I could not control at all. I was essentially helpless and alone.
Of course, the toddler who pulls strangers' hair, runs in front of a moving car, spill drinks and food on others in a restaurant, or the puppy who barks ever so cutely, 'accidentally' pees on a friend's carpet, runs in front of a moving car, may seem 'awwwww, s/he's just a baby! Nevermind!' The parent/ owner is alive and kicking but definitely BLIND. BLIND is BLIND is BLIND. I do not believe that they are helpless. It is not a situation that they cannot control, as they are right beside the kid/ puppy. They are simply turning a blind eye cos they do not mind their kid's/ puppy's antics. The only people who mind are strangers and neighbors around them and who cares if they are inconvenienced?
