SHIT hits the fan!!!!!
Darn! I think I am going to let myself go into a full out angst now. Kelvin just msn me, asking if I had seen his reply on fb.
Me: Yes
K: So?
I didn't reply.
K: I ask you another thing, do you feel proud defaming your brother in front of your friends?
I didn't reply.
I didn't know stating a fact (he is really playing WOW) is defamation. I didn't think that playing WOW is something to be ashamed of, especially when I mentioned this fact on fb to an inveterate gamer who, I believe, understands the addictive aspect of a game.
Shift mode to academic:
You should check out a book called 'The Breakup 2.0' by Gershon. It's an anthropological study of social websites (e.g., FB, msn, tweeter etc), focusing on how it creates and breaks relationships. I just came back from my only anthro seminar for this semester, 'Culture, meaning and society' today and this book is on my reading list.
