Rookies
Just so you know, my winter holidays is spent watching dramas, exploring cafes and studying too. I just finished watching Rookies, the live action drama and its movie, 'Rookies, Sotsugyou'. You can say it was almost like Gokusen but not quite. Cos it was a drama overflowing with male pheromones. The surplus of masculinity might be due to the fact that, while this is a drama on high school baseball, the male leads ranges from adult men to totally uncles!! The storyline, which was adapted from a manga, might be good. But it was a blasphemy of male aesthetics!!
That said, I am not complaining. The drama has its tear-jerker and funny moments. It has no inane actions that can only be legally reenacted in a manga (to a certain extent, at least). Even so, the severe lack of eye-candy, the protracted sentimental scenes and the dangerous crossover into uncle pheromones territory, lessened the aesthetics of this whole drama.
